Who is Vulnerable?
Trend Micro ServerProtect for Windows 5.58
Vulnerability Description
A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in Trend Micro ServerProtect. Trend Micro ServerProtect is a centrally managed virus protection console for enterprise-class servers. A remote attacker may exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code on a vulnerable system via a specially crafted RPC request.

Vulnerability Details
The vulnerability is due to a boundary error in the SpntSvc daemon, the vulnerable component of Trend Micro ServerProtect, that fails to properly handle malformed RPC requests. A remote attacker could specially craft a malicious RPC request that will cause the system to execute arbitrary commands.

Protection Overview
By enabling this protection, SmartDefense will detect and block malformed RPC requests sent to Trend Micro ServerProtect over TCP port 5168.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your VPN-1/InterSpect/Connectra product to the latest SmartDefense update. For information on how to update SmartDefense, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

To configure the defense, select your product from the list below and follow the related protection steps.

2. In the configuration pane, under Settings > Mode, check Active.
