Who is Vulnerable? ImageMagick Studio ImageMagick 6.7.5-0
Vulnerability Description A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in ImageMagick.
Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to a boundary error in the ImageMagick library while handling specially crafted ResolutionUnit tags in EXIF headers. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by enticing a target user to open a malicious image file with an affected program or by uploading a malicious image file to a vulnerable server. Successful exploitation would cause memory corruption in a way that may lead to code execution.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the ImageMagick EXIF ResolutionUnit Handling Memory Corruption protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
