Who is Vulnerable? Trend Micro Control Manager 5.5
Vulnerability Description A stack buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in Trend Micro Control Manager.
Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of user controlled data. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted packet to the CmdProcessor.exe component. Successful exploitation would allow attackers to execute arbitrary code with the security privileges of the target user.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Trend Micro Control Manager CmdProcessor.exe AddTask Stack Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
