Vulnerability Description A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in Sun Java SE Runtime Environment.
Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to insufficient boundary checking in Sun Java SE Runtime Environment. A remote attacker may use the Black Hole Toolkit v1.2.3 to exploit this issue by sending specially crafted .jar files to the victim. Successful exploitation would allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block the Black Hole Toolkit v1.2.3 Java array exploit attempts.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Black Hole Toolkit v1.2.3 Java Array Exploits protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
