Who is Vulnerable? The Ruby on Rails Project Ruby on Rails prior to 3.2.6
Vulnerability Description An SQL injection vulnerability has been reported in Ruby on Rails Active Record.
Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to improper input validation while handling hash values. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by sending a specially crafted request to the target server. Successful exploitation would allow an attacker to view or manipulate data on the target server.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block specially crafted requests sent to the target.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Ruby on Rails Hash SQL Injection protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
