  • Who is Vulnerable? Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.55 and earlier versions
    Vulnerability Description A memory corruption vulnerability has been reported in Adobe Flash Player.
    Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to an error while parsing malformed MP4 files. A remote attacker may exploit this issue by enticing a target user to open a specially crafted MP4 file with an affected version of Flash Player. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

    Protection Overview

    This protection will detect and block attempts to transfer malformed MP4 files.

    In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

    Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

    1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Adobe Flash Player MP4 File Memory Corruption (APSB12-03) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
    2. Install policy on all modules.
