  • Who is Vulnerable? Windows 2012 server
    Vulnerability Description A denial of service vulnerability has been reported in Windows 2012 server.
    Update/Patch AvaliableApply patches from: MS13-064
    Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to the server's inability to handle truncated IPv6 header inside ICMP error message payload. Remote attackers may exploit this issue by sending specially crafted ICMP packets to the server. Successful exploitation may cause the server to crash, resulting in a denial of service condition.

    Protection Overview

    IPS will detect and block any attempt to use this vulnerability.
    Note: This protection cannot be disabled. If you select Action > Inactive, the protection is still active.

    In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

    Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

    1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Microsoft DirectAccess ICMP Denial of Service (MS13-064) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
    2. Install policy on all modules.
