Who is Vulnerable? HylaFax+ HylaFAX+ prior to 5.5.4
Vulnerability Description A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in HylaFAX+.
Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to a buffer overflow when an overly long username is used for LDAP authentication. A remote unauthenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a malicious username to target server. Successful exploitation could allow arbitrary code execution within security context of the target server.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the HylaFAXplus LDAP Authentication User Name Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
