Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in Adobe products. The vulnerability is due to errors in Adobe products that fail to sufficiently validate input when processing embedded JBIG2 streams within PDF documents. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability via a specially crafted PDF file. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the affected system or cause application crashes.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R70 / R71 / R75 and above

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Adobe Products JBIG2 Stream Buffer Overflow - Ver2 protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
