  • Who is Vulnerable? Cogent DataHub prior to 7.3.5
    Vulnerability Description A remote command injection vulnerability has been reported in Cogent DataHub. The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation within the GetPermissions.asp page. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by submitting a maliciously crafted request to GetPermissions.asp. This can result in arbitrary command execution on the vulnerable system.

    This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability.

    In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

    Security Gateway R77 / R76 / R75 / R71 / R70

    1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Cogent DataHub Web Server GetPermissions.asp Command Injection protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
    2. Install policy on all modules.
