Vulnerability Description
HTTP Protocol Inspection provides strict enforcement of the HTTP protocol, ensuring these sessions comply with RFC standards and common security practices.
Vulnerability Details
You can configure HTTP compliance enforcement on requests and responses:
  • Enforce strict HTTP request parsing: Select this checkbox to block any request that does not comply with strict HTTP compliance.
  • Enforce strict HTTP response parsing: Select this checkbox to block any request that does not comply with strict HTTP compliance.

Protection Overview
This protection detects and blocks non-RFC compliant HTTP protocol sessions.

To configure the defense, select your product from the list below and follow the related protection steps.

How Can I Protect My Network?
1. In the IPS tab, click Protections > By Protocol > Web Intelligence > HTTP Protocol Inspection.
2. In the right pane, double-click the Non Compliant HTTP protection.
3. In the Protection Details window, click on Edit. Choose the protection's Action (Override IPS Policy with: Prevent/Detect), and apply Additional Settings.
4. Install policy on all modules.

How Do I Know if My Network is Under Attack?
SmartView Tracker will log the following entries:

Attack Name: Non Compliant HTTP
Attack Information: Illegal header format detected
