Who is Vulnerable?
Adobe Systems Acrobat Reader 9.1.1 and prior
Adobe Systems Acrobat Standard 9.1.1 and prior
Adobe Systems Acrobat Professional 9.1.1 and prior
Vulnerability Description
Multiple memory corruption vulnerabilities have been discovered in Adobe Reader and Acrobat. A remote attacker can exploit these vulnerabilities to execute arbitrary code on an affected system via a specially crafted PDF file. Portable Document Format (PDF) is an open file format created by Adobe Systems. It is used for representing two-dimensional documents in a device and resolution independent fixed-layout document format. Successful exploitation of this issue will cause the application to become non-responsive, and may allow execution of arbitrary code on an affected system.
Update/Patch Available

Acrobat 3D users on Windows
Acrobat Pro users on Macintosh
Vulnerability Details
The vulnerabilities are due to insufficient input validation when handling maliciously crafted PDF files containing embedded JBIG2 streams with a malformed pattern dictionary segment. A remote attacker could trigger this issue via a specially crafted PDF file. Successful exploitation will create a denial of service condition, causing the application to become non-responsive, and may allow execution of arbitrary code once a malicious PDF file is loaded on a vulnerable system.

Protection Overview
This protection will detect and block attempts to transfer malformed PDF files over HTTP.
