| Vulnerability Description A vulnerability has been discovered in Adobe Reader and Acrobat. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on an affected system via a specially crafted PDF file. Portable Document Format (PDF) is an open file format created by Adobe Systems. It is used for representing two-dimensional documents in a device and resolution independent fixed-layout document format. Successful exploitation of this issue will allow execution of arbitrary code on an affected system. |

Vulnerability Details The vulnerability is due to an error in the Adobe Reader and Acrobat that fail to restrict the contents of one text field in the Launch File warning dialog, which makes it easier for remote attackers to trick users into executing an arbitrary local program that was specified in a PDF document. A remote attacker could trigger this issue via a specially crafted PDF file. Successful exploitation will allow execution of arbitrary code once the user is tricked by the malicious PDF file. |
Protection Overview
This protection detects and blocks the transferring of specially crafted PDF files over HTTP.
