MS11-082
Vulnerability Details
The vulnerabilities are due to an error in the way Microsoft HIS handles UDP and TCP traffic. A remote attacker may exploit these vulnerabilities by sending a specially crafted packet to an affected server listening on UDP port 1478 or TCP ports 1477 and 1478. Successful exploitation could allow a remote attacker to cause snabase.exe, snaserver.exe, snalink.exe, or mngagent.exe to stop responding, resulting in a DoS condition.

Protection Overview
This protection will detect and block attempts to send malformed packets to the server.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

To configure the defense, select your product from the list below and follow the related protection steps.
