| Vulnerability Description A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) threat by a Bitcoin Mining botnet has been reported. |

Vulnerability Details The botnet attacks are used by attackers for Bitcoin Mining. The DDoS components distributed through the botnet enable HTTP flooding attacks, aka HTTP Hammering. These attacks are aimed to cause the server to crash or become unresponsive. |
Protection Overview
This protection will detect and block HTTP brute force attacks on the server.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
