Vulnerability Description
A remote code execution vulnerability has been reported in Adobe Photoshop.
Vulnerability Details
The vulnerability is due to a heap buffer overflow when handling specially crafted TIFF files. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by enticing a target user to open a specially crafted TIFF file using an affected version of Adobe Photoshop. Successful exploitation would allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code, in the security context of the logged on user.

This protection will detect and block the transferring of specially crafted TIFF files.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

How Can I Protect My Network?

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Adobe Photoshop TIFF Parsing Heap Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
