HP Operations Agent prior to 11.03.12
Vulnerability Description
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in HP Operations Agent.
Vulnerability Details
The vulnerability is due to a bound checking error when processing requests containing certain opcodes. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted request to the server. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute non-privileged code in on the target server.

This protection will detect and block malicious HTTP requests sent to the server.

How Can I Protect My Network?

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the HP Operations Agent Opcode 0x34 Stack Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
