Apple Computer QuickTime prior to 7.7.2
Vulnerability Description
A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in Apple QuickTime.
Vulnerability Details
The vulnerability is due to a signedness error when processing a specially crafted QTVR string. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by enticing a victim to open a specially crafted QuickTime VR file with the affected software. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the security context of the logged-on user.

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Apple QuickTime QTVR QTVRStringAtom Parsing Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
