|Vulnerability Description||A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in Apple QuickTime.|
|Vulnerability Details||The vulnerability is due to insufficient bounds checking while parsing certain elements in TeXML files. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by enticing a user to open a specially crafted TeXML file with the affected software. Successful exploitation would allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target.|
This protection will detect and block the transferring of malicious data to the target client.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
- In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Apple QuickTime TeXML Style Element Text Specification Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
- Install policy on all modules.
