Vulnerability Details The vulnerability is due to an error in the Windows networking components while handling specially crafted Remote Administration Protocol (RAP) responses. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by sending specially crafted packet to the target system. Successful exploitation would cause the server to crash, resulting in a denial of service condition. |
Protection Overview
This protection will detect and block the transferring of specially crafted RAP packets.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
