| Vulnerability Description A denial of service vulnerability has been reported in the CA ARCserve Backup authentication service. |

Vulnerability Details The vulnerability is due to a NULL pointer dereference error while processing specially crafted SunRPC requests. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted request to the affected service. Successful exploitation would cause the server to crash, resulting in a denial of service condition. |
