|Vulnerability Description||A denial of service vulnerability has been reported in the CA ARCserve Backup authentication service.|
|Vulnerability Details||The vulnerability is due to a NULL pointer dereference error while processing specially crafted SunRPC requests. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted request to the affected service. Successful exploitation would cause the server to crash, resulting in a denial of service condition.|

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
- In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the CA ARCserve Backup Authentication Service Denial of Service protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
- Install policy on all modules.
