Vulnerability Description
A stack buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in HP Data Protector.
Vulnerability Details
The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of incoming packets with various opcodes. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by sending a specially crafted sequence of messages to the target service. Successful exploitation would allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target.

Protection Overview
This protection will detect and block the transferring of specially crafted packets.

How Can I Protect My Network?

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the HP Data Protector Express Multiple Opcodes Parsing Stack Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
