EMC AutoStart prior to 5.4.3
Vulnerability Description
Multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities have been reported in EMC AutoStart.
Vulnerability Details
The vulnerabilities are due to a failure while validating user provided values. A remote attacker can exploit these vulnerabilities by sending a specially crafted message to the target EMC AutoStart service. Successful exploitation would allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target or cause the server to crash, resulting in a denial of service condition.

How Can I Protect My Network?

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the EMC AutoStart ftAgent.exe Multiple Integer Overflow Vulnerabilities protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
