Symantec Web Gateway 184.108.40.206 prior to database update 220.127.116.118
A remote command execution vulnerability has been reported in Symantec Web Gateway.
The vulnerability is due to improper input validation. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by sending a malicious HTTP request containing a specially crafted parameter to the target server. Successful exploitation would result in execution of arbitrary commands in the security context of the affected server.
This protection will detect and block the transferring of specially crafted HTTP requests.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

How Can I Protect My Network?
- In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Symantec Web Gateway pbcontrol.php Command Injection protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
- Install policy on all modules.
