Who is Vulnerable?
HP Diagnostics 9.20 and prior
A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in the HP Diagnostics Server.
The vulnerability is due to lack of boundary checking while copying user-supplied data into a stack buffer. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by sending a malicious message to the target. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability would lead to code execution in the security context of the affected service.
This protection will detect and block the transferring of a malicious message to the target host.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

How Can I Protect My Network?
- In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the HP Diagnostics magentservice.exe Stack Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
