  • Who is Vulnerable? Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.55 and earlier versions
    Vulnerability Description A memory corruption vulnerability has been reported in Adobe Flash Player.
    Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to an error in the way AVM2 executes the bytecode. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by enticing a user to open a web page containing an embedded malformed SWF file. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to take complete control of the target system.

    Protection Overview

    This protection will detect and block the transferring of malicious SWF files.

    In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

    Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

    1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Adobe Flash Player AVM2 Null Dereference Memory Corruption (APSB12-03) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
    2. Install policy on all modules.
