Who is Vulnerable? Contaware FreeVimager 4.1.0 and prior
Vulnerability Description A memory corruption vulnerability has been reported in Contaware FreeVimager. The vulnerability is due to an error in processing GIF images containing an invalid value for the LZWMinimumCodeSize field. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by enticing a target user to open a maliciously crafted GIF file with the vulnerable product.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Contaware FreeVimager GIF LZWMinimumCodeSize Memory Corruption - Improved Performance protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
