Nagios Enterprises Nagios 3.4.3 and prior
Vulnerability Description
A stack buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Nagios. A stack buffer overflow and possibly code execution in the context of the affected application
Vulnerability Details
The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of the host parameter when it is processed by the history. The vulnerability can be triggered when sprintf() is used to fill the buffer with the host value, and no bounds checking is performed

How Can I Protect My Network?

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Nagios history.cgi Parameter Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
