VideoLAN VLC Media Player 2.0.3 and prior
Vulnerability Description
A code execution vulnerability has been reported in VLC Media Player. The vulnerability is due to an input validation error when handling certain PNG files. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by enticing a user to open a specially crafted PNG file with a vulnerable version of VLC Media Player. Successful exploitation may allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target user's machine with the privileges of the VLC Media Player process. If code execution is unsuccessful, a denial of service condition may result.
