Vulnerability Description
A stack buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Intel SDK for UPnP and Portable SDK for UPnP. The vulnerability is due to a boundary error while parsing uuid:schemas:device service name strings in the unique_service_name() function called from SSDP protocol parser.Remote unauthenticated attackers can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code within the context of the vulnerable service, normally root.

How Can I Protect My Network?

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Portable SDK for UPnP Devices libupnp Device Service Name Stack Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
