Who is Vulnerable?
Adobe Reader 7 and Acrobat 7 before 7.1.3, Adobe Reader 8 and Acrobat 8 before 8.1.6, and Adobe Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 before 9.1.2
A heap corruption vulnerability has been reported in Adobe Reader and Acrobat.
The vulnerability is due to an insufficient validation of tags and flags in embedded JBIG2 images in PDF files. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by enticing a user to open a specially crafted PDF file with an embedded JBIG2 image.
This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability.
