Novell Sentinel Log Manager prior to 1.2.0.3
Vulnerability Description
A policy bypass vulnerability has been reported in Novell Sentinel Log Manager.
Vulnerability Details
The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of incoming requests. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted request to the target. Successful exploitation would allow attackers to bypass certain security restrictions.

Protection Overview
This protection will detect and block the transferring of specially crafted requests to the target.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

To configure the defense, select your product from the list below and follow the related protection steps.

How Can I Protect My Network?

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Novell Sentinel Log Manager Retention Policy Security Restriction Bypass protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
