Vulnerability Description
A remote code execution vulnerability has been reported in the Microsoft .NET Framework. The vulnerability is due to the way WinForms handles pointers to unmanaged memory locations.A remote, unauthenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability by either enticing a user to visit a maliciously crafted website containing a specially crafted XML browser application or by using Windows .NET Framework applications to bypass Code Access Security (CAS) restrictions.Successful exploitation will allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on an affected system, in the security context of the logged on user.

This protection will detect and block attempts to open a specially crafted web page.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

How Can I Protect My Network?

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Microsoft .NET Framework WinForms Information Disclosure protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
