Vulnerability Description
China Chopper Web Shell is a malware designed to infect Web servers. The malware has a Web shell command-and-control (CnC) client binary and a text-based Web shell payload (server component). Post infection, the malware enables remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected systems.

Protection Overview
This protection will detect and block communication attempts between the web server component and the CnC client binary.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

To configure the defense, select your product from the list below and follow the related protection steps.

How Can I Protect My Network?

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the China Chopper Web Shell Remote Code Execution protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
