Who is Vulnerable? Panasonic Security API SDK prior to V.8.10.18
Vulnerability Description A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Panasonic Security API SDK, Ipropsapi.ipropsapiCtrl.1 ActiveX Control component. The vulnerability is due to a lack of boundary checks on a parameter passed to the MulticastAddr method. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by enticing the victim to visit a specially crafted webpage. Successful exploitation could lead to remote code execution in the context of the affected user.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Panasonic Security API SDK MulticastAddr Stack Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.
