Adobe Flash Media Server Vulnerability
A directory traversal vulnerability has been reported in Adobe Flash Media Server (FMS). A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability to execute malicious code on an affected system.
Flash Media Server (FMS) is an application server for Flash-based applications. This vulnerability allows a hacker to access normally inaccessible files and directories through a specially created HTTP request. Instead of having access only to the publically-available files, the hacker can have access to all files and can load arbitrary DLLS that are present on that server using this vulnerability.
Check Point provides pre-emptive protection against exploits that use this vulnerability through its integrated IPS offerings. Check Point SmartDefense and Check Point IPS Software Blade detect and block malformed HTTP requests attempting to exploit this vulnerability. No update is required to address this vulnerability. For more information, see CPAI-2009-330.
