Connect iConn VPN in Three Easy Steps

Secure remote access for Apple iPhone.

Step 1 - Installing Check Point iConn:

1. Launch App Store on your iPhone

2. Search for either Check Point or iConn

Search for either Check Point or iConn

3. Install the application

Step 2 - Configuring iConn

To connect to the Check Point demonstration site:

1. Launch the application by tapping the iConn icon

2. Tap Server:

The Editing Site window opens:

3. Define

  • The Check Point demo site: phoenix.checkpoint.com as the site
  • Keep the default authentication method: username Password.

Note - iConn supports multiple authentication methods, including one-time-password tokens such as RSA SecurID, client certificates with integrated certificate enrollment, and more.

4. Press Save.
The client is now configured.

5. Return to iConn's main page.

Step 3 – Using the iConn VPN Client

Connecting to the Security Gateway

To Connect to the Security gateway:

1. On iConn's main page, enter demo1 as the user name and firebird as the password.

2. Press Connect.

3. Accept the gateway's fingerprint. The fingerprint should be identical to the one shown here:

Note -The fingerprint only appears during the client's first connection to the gateway.

Within seconds, a VPN connection to the gateway is established, and the Status field changes to Connected.

4. Press the Home button (at the bottom center of the iPhone) to close iConn:

Note - Because iPhone applications cannot be run in the background, do not close iConn until the VPN connection is established or the disconnect operation complete.

Important - Even after closing iConn, the VPN connection remains active.

Accessing the Demo Web Site

To test VPN connectivity:

1. Open the Safari web browser

2. Browse to:idemo.checkpoint.com

The demo web site is displayed in the browser:

Note - The idemo.checkpoint.com web server is only accessible after the VPN tunnel is established.

DNS resolution for this server also dependant on the VPN tunnel being active.

Disconnecting the VPN

To Disconnect the VPN tunnel:

1. Launch iConn

2. Press Disconnect:
