Service Contract Files

Check Point has simplified the process for managing service contracts.  You can now quickly scan the status of service contracts using SmartUpdate, and easily determine which Check Point products are eligible for upgrade at any particular point in time.  To simplify the upgrade process even further, during the upgrade install, a wizard will notify you if a service contract exists or needs to be updated for the product being installed.

When upgrading your gateways or SmartCenter management server to the latest release (NGX R65 or newer), a Service Contract File must be downloaded and installed on your SmartCenter server.  The contract file is needed to enable the contract management functionality described above.  To download the Service Contract File, your license status is verified with the Check Point User Center.  Once installed on your SmartCenter server, the contract file is transferred to gateways during the upgrade process.
