Check Point Software Taps Deborah Triant as U.S. President and CEO

Former Adobe, Sun Microsystems Executive, Strengthens Management Team of Firewall Market Leader

San Francisco, CA —

Check Point Software Technologies, Ltd., the market leader in Internet security software, today named Dr. Deborah Triant president and chief executive officer of Check Point Software Technologies, Inc., its U.S.-based subsidiary.

With more than fifteen years of experience in the software industry, Triant will assume responsibility for worldwide sales, marketing and business development for Check Point's industry-leading FireWall-1. Triant will be based at Check Point's new U.S. headquarters in the Silicon Valley and will report to Gil Shwed, president and CEO of Check Point Software Technologies, Ltd.

Triant joins Check Point from Adobe Systems Incorporated, where she served as vice president of marketing. At Adobe, Triant established Adobe Acrobat as the market- leading solution for electronic document exchange and as an emerging standard on the Internet. Prior to Adobe, Triant spent three years at Sun Microsystems, Inc., where she was president and chief executive officer of its subsidiary, Sitka Corporation.

Prior to joining Sun Microsystems, Inc., Triant was a managing partner at Congruity, a Bay Area consulting firm. She has also held senior positions at Xerox Corporation and at MITRE Corporation. Early in her career, Triant was assistant professor of mathematics at the University of California at Santa Cruz and holds a Ph.D. in mathematics from Columbia University.
