Check Point Teams with Oracle on Security Solutions for SQL*NET

FireWall-1 Provides Secure Connectivity for Distributed Oracle Environments

Check Point Software Technologies, Inc. the market-leading Internet security software provider today announced that it is working with Oracle to provide secure database access across the Internet. In addition, the companies are working together to enable enhanced connectivity options in future releases.

FireWall-1, Check Point's popular network security offering, is the only firewall available today that provides functionality specifically for Oracle's SQL*Net.

FireWall-1's patent-pending, stateful multi-layer inspection technology verifies data packets at all communication layers, significantly enhancing network security over other firewall solutions, such as packet filters and application gateways.

New capabilities under development include support for multi-port parallel access to Oracle databases. FireWall-1 provides the highest network throughput rates per connection of any firewall today, and with the addition of parallel access support, the combined solution will offer maximum utilization of Oracle parallel database technology.
