Check Point FireWall-1 Targets Fastest Growing Segment of Internet
New Check Point FireWall-1 Midrange Offers Under $10,000 Solution For Midsize Companies; Single Product Offers Secure, Transparent Internet Access to Corporations of All Sizes
Lexington, MA —
To meet user demand for affordable network security, Check Point Software Technologies, Ltd., the leading vendor of Internet security products, today announced FireWall-1™ Midrange, aimed at the fastest-growing segment of the Internet: mid-size companies. The new Check Point FireWall-1 Midrange package, which is positioned between existing packages for Fortune 1000 enterprise networks and small businesses, is priced under $10,000 to meet the needs of companies with networks of 50-250 computers. The single, scaleable product offered at multiple price points enables companies to preserve their network security investment even as their business grows.
According to Creative Strategies Research, Inc., a San Jose, Calif.-based industry research firm specializing in technology strategy for small and midsize companies, companies of this size represent the fastest-growing segment of the online community. "Midsize companies with less than 250 systems are moving onto the Internet at a faster pace than any other group, but they typically have more limited budgets," said Mike Heylin, senior associate at Creative Strategies Research, Inc. "For the cost of developing a custom, in-house solution, Check Point is offering a shrink-wrapped firewall solution that can grow as a company grows. Check Point is clearly meeting the needs of the market with this new product."
"Our new pricing strategy reflects the growing market for an Internet security solution at the $10,000 price point," said Gil Shwed, President and CEO of Check Point. "More and more companies are joining the online community and require secure, transparent access to the Internet's vast resources. Check Point is dedicated to providing this security at a price that fits the needs of all businesses -- large, medium or small."
