Check Point Expands Channels in UK Market

Redwood City, CA —

Check Point Software Technologies, the leading provider of Internet/Intranet firewall software, has added a new channel in the UK to coincide with the setting up of the UK office and the appointment of Steve Barnett as UK managing director.

QUZA, the recently launched managed Internet service provided by Integralis and Racal Network Services, will include Check Point's FireWall-1 product range, including the recently announced FireWall-1, version 2.1., in its best of breed product set. This latest agreement is in line with Check Point's drive to increase market share in the UK, France and Germany.

QUZA has been established by Racal Network Services and Integralis in response to industry demand for fast, consistent, Internet access. The service will start operation in Autumn 1996, running across Racal's ATM-switched national network.

Other direct channels for Check Point Software in the UK include Integralis, who operate as a distributor and Electric Mail, who act as a value-added-reseller and systems integrator. Check Point OEM's and distributors include Hewlett Packard, Sun, UB Networks and Bay Networks, making the product available through their multiple local resellers.

Steve Barnett, UK managing director, Check Point Software, commented, "We are working with QUZA to provide resilient, secure, managed services including system integration to large corporates and government users. This will complement our existing relationships with Integralis and Electric Mail and will take us into new areas of the market."

Clive McCafferty, technical director of the QUZA service, commented, "Check Point's firewall products are high-performance, scaleable and include remote management capabilities, which is vital to the way we operate. In return, we offer a fully-managed, resilient network with worldwide coverage. We expect our relationship with Check Point to benefit all parties."
