Check Point Software Technologies Expands European Presense

Leading Firewall Vendor Establishes Subsidiaries in France and The United Kingdom

Redwood City, CA —

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., the market share leader in network security software, today announced that it has opened new offices in France and the United Kingdom. The offices are the company's first direct presence in Europe to market and sell its market-leading Check Point^TM FireWall-1^TM network security solution.

In France, Check Point has opened a subsidiary with headquarters in Paris for its Southern European operations, covering France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greece. Herv Bourgeois has been appointed Southern European Manager for Check Point Software.

Bourgeois has 20 years experience in the computer field. Previously, he served as Southern European Manager for CrossCom Corp., provider of fail-safe integrated networking solutions. He has also worked with Idea France, Megalpha International, Kalamazoo, and Cap Sogeti (now known as Cap Gemini).

In the United Kingdom, Check Point has opened a subsidiary based in Cambridge for its Northern European operations covering the U.K., Norway, Denmark, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxemborg, Ireland, Finland and Sweden. The office will be headed by Steve Barnett, the newly appointed Managing Director of Northern Europe. The U.K. office will be responsible for marketing, channel sales, and support activities in Northern Europe.

Barnett comes to Check Point Software from Datastorm Technologies, where he held the post of European sales and marketing manager, growing sales in Europe by more than 45%. Previously, he was with Unipalm/Pipex.
