Check Point Software partners with Sybase to Enable Secure Database Access

Check Point FireWall-1 Provides Secure Connectivity for Sybase SQL Server and Open Server Applications

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., (NASDAQ: CHKPF), the leader in network security software, today announced that its award-winning Check Point FireWall-1 network security solution now provides integrated, secure support for Sybase SQL Server and Open Server applications. Sybase SQL Server and Open Server applications allow organizations to deploy database servers into highly distributed PC LAN environments. Check Point FireWall-1, which supports hundreds of applications, services and protocols, is designed to allow administrators to easily customize the firewall to incorporate new applications. Support for SQL Server and Open Server applications is available through FireWall-1's programmable Inspect engine, which enables support for new applications such as Sybase SQL Server and Open Server applications quickly and easily.

The collaborative efforts of Check Point Software and Sybase enable users of Check Point FireWall-1 to access proprietary database information via corporate intranets securely. This announcement is part of the Sybase Firewall Partnership Program, a program designed to address Internet and intranet security issues while enabling partners and customers to securely transmit proprietary information via the Internet.
