Redwood City, CA —

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., a leader in network security software, today announced that its Check Point FireWall-1 network security software now provides integrated secure support for Xing Technology Corporation's StreamWorks 2.0 software for live and on-demand video and audio. Instructions for adding support for StreamWorks are available by visiting Check Point's Web page (http://www.checkpoint.com). Check Point is the first firewall vendor to announce support for this emerging standard for live and on-demand Internet broadcasting.

FireWall-1, which today supports more than 120 applications, services and protocols, is designed to allow administrators to easily customize the firewall to incorporate new applications. Most Internet audio and video technology, including Xing Technology's StreamWorks, is based on connectionless protocols such as UDP. This makes it difficult or impossible for most firewalls to support these technologies securely. FireWall-1's Stateful Inspection implementation secures UDP-based applications by maintaining a virtual connection on top of UDP communications. Additionally, FireWall-1's programmable INSPECT ENGINE enables extensible Stateful Inspection which allows Check Point to provide support for new applications such as Xing Technolgy's StreamWorks quickly and easily.

"As Internet audio and video technologies become standard methods for conducting business and communicating with global counterparts, corporations are demanding that these communications be secured through corporate firewalls," stated Dr. Deborah Triant, CEO and president of Check Point Software Technologies, Inc. "FireWall-1 enables companies and individuals who want to use these cutting-edge technologies to do so safely and securely."

"Many of our customers are using StreamWorks to transmit and share sensitive corporate information such as employee training videos and speeches by company executives," stated David Oldfield, vice-president of marketing at Xing Technology Corporation. "We are pleased that Check Point Software Technologies has made this commitment to StreamWorks, to allow our customers to leverage our technology securely."
