CHECK POINT FIREWALL-1 RECEIVES "TESTER'S CHOICE" AWARD FROM DATA COMMUNICATIONS MAGAZINE IN VIRTUAL PRIVATE NETWORK SOLUTIONS COMPARISON

REDWOOD CITY, CALIF.,- October 6, 1997- Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKPF), today announced that its Check Point^TM FireWall-1 enterprise security solution received "Testers Choice" honors from Data Communications Magazine in a comparative review of Virtual Private Network (VPN) solutions published in the September 21, 1997 issue. Check Point was selected among fourteen VPN products for this prestigious honor and was praised for extending FireWall-1's functionality to deliver a powerful, easy-to-manage VPN. This is the third consecutive "Tester's Choice" the Check Point FireWall-1 product has received.

In discussing FireWall-1's VPN functionalities, the Data Communications' editors stated, "Check Point wrote the book on simple security management with FireWall-1 and now it's extended that ease of use to VPNs. The same graphical interface used to set up the firewall rules also applies to VPN's."

The Data Communication's testing team evaluated products based on four major factors: remote user access, key management, key management on international links, and remote administration.
