DEUTSCHE TELEKOM AG AND CHECK POINT SOFTWARE JOIN FORCES IN MANAGED INTERNET SERVICES
Check Point Provides Secure Enterprise Connectivity to Europe's Largest Telecommunications and Internet Service Provider MUNICH, GERMANY -- October 28, 1997—Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., (Nasdaq: CHKPF), a leader in policy-based enterprise management solutions, today announced that Deutsche Telekom will standardize on Check Point's products to provide customers with the most powerful network security available for the Internet, intranets and extranets. Deutsche Telekom, Europe's largest telecommunications company, will integrate the Check PointTM FireWall-1 enterprise security suite into its managed Internet services, including secure remote access and virtual private network (VPN) capabilities. Under the terms of the agreement, Deutsche Telekom and Check Point will collaborate to develop managed services offerings for Deutsche Telekom's customer base. As part of these offerings, Deutsche Telekom will assist customers in developing their enterprise security policies and will recommend appropriate hardware and software that meets their specific requirements. Deutsche Telekom will also offer its customers 24x7 management support, enabling the customer to turn over security administration to Deutsche Telekom security experts. With this option, all security components within the customer's network will be monitored by the Deutsche Telekom Management Center.
