San Francisco, Calif., --January 27, 1997 -- At the RSA Conference today, TimeStep Corporation, a Newbridge company, announced a partnership with Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ:CHKPF) to integrate the Check Point FireWall-1 network security software into TimeStep's PERMIT family of secure virtual private networking (SVPN) products. Under the joint development and marketing agreement, TimeStep will embed the FireWall-1 Inspection Module in its TimeStep PERMIT family of products as well as resell the entire FireWall-1 product line. The PERMIT/FireWall-1 solution combines best of breed network security including access control and secure virtual private networking to provide a cost-effective, single device solution which enables organizations to easily deploy branch office internetworking and remote access securely. The combined systems will be available through Internet Service Providers (ISPs), telephone and cable companies, and Virtual Private Network Providers via TimeStep's InterSec ISP program (see separate release).
