CHECK POINT SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGIES CONTINUES AWARD-WINNING TRADITION WITH ANOTHER TOP INDUSTRY HONOR

Check Point FireWall-1 Receives Network Computing's Editor's Choice Award for the Third Consecutive Year

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., - November 18, 1998-- Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., (Nasdaq: CHKPF), the leading provider of solutions that enable Secure Enterprise Networking, today announced that its Check Point FireWall-1 enterprise security solution has been awarded Network Computing's Editor's Choice Award for enterprise firewalls. This is the third consecutive year FireWall-1 has won this prestigious award. Network Computing's Editor's Choice Award, profiled in the November 15 issue of the publication, is chosen by the magazine's editorial and reviews staff to recognize the best products in the market.

The Editor's Choice Award from Network Computing honors Check Point's FireWall-1 for its best overall performance, management and logging features, which are three key parts to a security solution. According to Network Computing, "Check Point's superlative firewall policy management occurs via an interface that simplifies administration through its practical use of color and graphics. In addition, its logging and monitoring were superior." The features which each firewall was tested on, and in which FireWall-1 excelled, were (in order of weight) access control, performance, management, monitoring/reporting/logging and ease of use. The other products tested include Axent Technologies Raptor Firewall (Nasdaq: AXNT), CyberGuard Firewall 4.0 (Nasdaq: CYBG), Secure Computing SecureZone (Nasdaq: SCUR), Cisco PIX Firewall 520 (Nasdaq: CSCO), NetScreen Technologies NetScreen-100, and NetGuard Guardian 3.0 Firewall for Windows NT. Only Network Associates (Nasdaq: NETA) declined to submit a product.

"Winning the Network Computing Editor's Choice Award, especially for the third consecutive year, is quite an honor," said Deborah Triant Rieman, president and CEO of Check Point Software Technologies, Inc. "Check Point is focused on providing customers with an extensible, flexible, yet integrated enterprise security solution with FireWall-1, and we are pleased to see our accomplishments in these areas recognized by a leading industry resource such as Network Computing."

Network Computing also highlighted the value of Check Point's Open Platform for Secure Enterprise Connectivity (OPSEC) Alliance, which is enabling more than 160 third-party products to complement FireWall-1's built in features with content security, intrusion detection, fault tolerance and reporting capabilities.
