Check Point Software OPSEC Alliance Surpasses 100 Partner Milestone

Adoption of OPSEC SDK by Solutions Providers, MSPs and Systems Integrators Reinforces OPSEC Platform as De Facto Standard for Enterprise Security

REDWOOD CITY, CALIF.,- January 6, 1998 - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKPF), a leader in policy-based enterprise management solutions, today announced that membership in its OPSEC™ Alliance has grown to include more than 100 leading vendors, reinforcing the OPSEC (Open Platform for Secure Enterprise Connectivity) platform's position as the de facto industry standard for enterprise security solutions. New OPSEC Alliance partners include CompuServe Network Services, GTE Internetworking, Hewlett-Packard, IONA Technologies, NextPoint Networks, Surfwatch/Spyglass and Worldtalk Corporation. Many leading vendors, MSPs (Managed Service Providers) and systems integrators such as GTE Internetworking and MCI are already working with the OPSEC Software Development Kit (SDK) to create secure, enterprise-wide connectivity solutions based on the industry-leading Check Point™ FireWall-1® suite.

"We are pleased with the rapid acceptance of the OPSEC Alliance which today spans across multiple industry segments," said Dr. Deborah Triant, CEO and president of Check Point Software Technologies, Inc. "The innovative solutions from new partners extend the scope of OPSEC's compelling value proposition to our growing end-user base worldwide: a single management platform for increasingly complex enterprise security environments. The strong demand amongst our MSP partners for OPSEC-compliant network security has enabled us to extend the alliance to the many Internet Service Providers worldwide adopting FireWall-1 as their security platform of choice."

Expansion of the OPSEC Alliance program includes integration combining OPSEC's security management strengths and Hewlett-Packard Company's HP OpenView systems management solution. Through secure event integration achieved using the OPSEC SDK, logging and reporting information captured by FireWall-1 is managed and monitored by HP OpenView, for simplified system and security management.

"HP OpenView's integration with Check Point FireWall-1 addresses our customers need for unified systems and security management," said Olivier Helleboid, general manager of HP's OpenView Software Division. "We are pleased to include Check Point Software in our Premier Partner Program and expand our relationship with Check Point by providing secure event integration in HP OpenView using the Check Point OPSEC SDK."

Check Point has also extended the OPSEC Alliance program to include the vast collection of MSP partners worldwide delivering managed services offerings based on FireWall-1. Many of the MSPs who have selected FireWall-1 as their security platform of choice are leveraging the OPSEC Software Development Kit to build complementary custom products for their managed services offerings, such as subscription-based security services and virtual private networks (VPNs).

"Check Point's OPSEC SDK provides the capabilities for GTE to expand its Site Patrol managed security service to support Check Point FireWall-1," stated Jane Eisenberg, general manager of Managed Security and Remote Access Services at GTE Internetworking. "The combined strengths of FireWall-1 and the OPSEC security management framework allow GTE to offer a superior managed security solution."
